Measure (Camera) — Distance · Length · Area
Estimate approximate distance, length, and area using a real-world reference object visible in the camera view. This is for practice and rough checks, not precision measurement.
Local runs in-browser
Privacy no upload / no save
HTTPS camera required
Live Camera
Keep the reference object near the center, facing the camera as flat as possible. Avoid strong wide-angle distortion (very close distance), which increases error.
Safety & privacy notes
- Camera frames are processed only inside your browser. This tool has no server upload and does not save captured media.
- Your browser extensions, network policies, or other scripts on the page (e.g., analytics/ads) are outside this tool’s control. Avoid sensitive filming; consider private mode and disabling extensions.
- The camera works only in a secure context (HTTPS). You can revoke camera permission anytime in your browser settings.
Results depend heavily on camera FOV, distance, tilt, lens distortion, and how well the reference size is represented. Use proper measurement tools for any work that requires accuracy.
Do not use for safety-critical decisions or legal/risk judgments. Especially prohibited for determining safe distances or hazard calculations.

How to use
Quick estimate
- Place a reference object so it is visible in the same camera view.
- Keep it near the center and as front-facing (flat) as possible to reduce error.
- Use the distance / length / area buttons to see approximate values.
Target mode (snapshot) example
- Select “Circular target diameter (30 cm)” as the reference.
- Press “Target mode — Snapshot” to freeze the current frame.
- On the snapshot, click two points across the target diameter to calibrate.
- Then click impact points; the tool estimates group diameter using the farthest pair.
Error increases when the reference is tilted or near the edges due to wide-angle distortion.
Target mode (Beta)
Use clicks on the snapshot to calibrate and estimate group diameter.
- Click two points across the reference diameter to calibrate
- Then click impact points
- The farthest pair determines the estimated group diameter
